As the twenty first century attracts to a detailed, it's fascinating to look again on the films which have outlined our technology in terms of cinematic excellence. But few films have created iconic movie scenes that can live on perpetually within the hearts and minds of film followers.

In this article I've put collectively a list of my favourite movie scenes from the twenty first century. They are all unforgettable, distinctive and highly effective.

1. The opening scene of Up (2009)
This scene is a masterful mix of visuals, music and sound. We observe the story of Carl, his spouse Ellie and their life together via a sequence of heart-wrenching pictures, culminating in Ellie's loss of life at the top.

2. Harry’s Escape from Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011)
