Some battles appear so sensible we overlook that what we’re watching is only a movie; others might have been so far more. Here I provide my private take on what I consider to be the perfect – and worst – movie battle scenes.

Some of the perfect battle scenes come from considered one of my all-time favorite motion pictures: (source) The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The battle between the humans, elves, Ents, and men of Middle-Earth against the forces of Mordor is solely gorgeous – with a number of armies on either side, spectacular visuals, and monsters of unfathomable scale. The score was completely excellent too, adding to the gritty tension of the scene and making it much more extraordinary.

From his inspirational cry of "Freedom!

The most effective battle scene of all time, for me, has to be from Braveheart. When William Wallace brings the Scots together to stand up to the huge English army, the emotion and (source) ferocity of the battle was merely coronary heart-stopping. From his inspirational cry of "Freedom!" to the unimaginable courage of the Scottish soldiers who fought with no likelihood of victory, it was a riveting and unforgettable masterpiece of action. The memorable music and thundering Scottish drums set it apart and made your entire scene much more epic.

Now let’s have a look at among the worst battle scenes. Star Wars: Episode IV – A new Hope has an iconic and traditional last battle scene. Unfortunately, its execution was terrible. The muddled sound, poor modifying, and terrible music made it laborious to tell what was actually occurring. The battle felt overly chaotic and unorganized, with no real sense of how the Obi-Wan and Darth Vader’s closing battle was going.

Another contester within the worst battle scenes class is The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. The battle between the Peacekeepers and the Rebels had an fascinating premise with a small group of guerilla fighters taking on arms in opposition to a a lot larger and better-outfitted enemy. However, that potential was squandered by poor pacing, uneven editing, and dangerous dialogue. The shaky digital camera angles and weak CGI made it exhausting to be engaged within the combat.

Finally, one of the worst battle scenes that I've seen is from the 2014 remake of Godzilla. The epic showdown between Godzilla and the MUTOs felt drawn out and boring. The CGI was shoddy and unconvincing, making it arduous to take the struggle critically. The cheese-laden dialogue and sluggish pacing didn’t help either.

In the case of battle scenes, it's clear that the very best – and worst – may be discovered on the silver screen. From the stunning visuals of The Lord of the Rings to the terrible CGI of Godzilla, there are various movie battles to experience. All that’s left to do is sit again, take pleasure in and draw your individual conclusions about the most effective – and (source) worst – movie battle scenes.
