The Simulated Universe is a complete gamechanger. The roguelike dungeon element of Honkai Star Rail was the first thing I really took to early on, and it’s remained fun since then. It’s the kind of thing each gacha game in 2022 and onward needs - an excuse to test multiple teams (moreso than something like the Spiral Abyss, even) and more reason to potentially look into expanding a roster. Plus, roguelikes are just fun. It’s not rocket science, though the in-game character behind the Simulated Universe would likely be extremely upset by that assert
HoYoverse shared extensive details about Honkai: Star Rail during the Gaming at Apple Dev Showcase about the game's story and combat. The turn-based sci-fi game is inspired by Eastern fantasy, which lends itself to the title's overall silkpunk aesthetic. Honkai centers around Aeons, which are godlike beings inhabiting the SLG game patch notes's universe. Among them are evil Aeons called Destructions who travel throughout space to spread Stellaron, which were described as " seeds of rui
The Star Rail is the perfect vehicle for staggered content releases. Even more than Genshin Impact ’s ever-expanding map, Honkai Star Rail ’s gradually growing world(s) are traversable on a space ship - which means wildly different biomes, easy isolation of story beats, and an excuse for why people aren’t familiar with the Trailblazer when they turn up in an area after having defeated an ancient e
Michael Lin: Yeah. So in the game itself, the game has something called the Aeons, the Aeons are godlike beings. And then, within the Aeon, there are evil Aeons, we call them the Destructions. The gods are not all, you know, good. They're not all good. There are bad gods who want to do destruction, and we call them just Destruction. So Destruction traverse the galaxy and spread what's called the Stellaron, that's basically seeds of ruins across the galaxy. With the seeds of ruins, there are monsters born, there are factions trying to fight each other, because they see ruins happening there with disruptions coming and all t
Players that have played any traditional JRPGs, for instance, will understand the combat system in Honkai: Star Rail quite quickly. Games like the early Final Fantasy titles follow the same structure. However, it is important to point out that there are a few other mechanics that come into play that still need to be understood before tackling the game. Developer Hoyoverse’s Honkai: Star Rail has a weakness system and a role system that are intrinsic to every single character, with the exception of the main hero, Trailblazer. Because of this, players need to carefully plan the team members they are taking into each battle of this space advent
Obviously it's far too early to pass judgment on the title, which doesn't even have a release date yet - but there's still plenty to be gleaned from its current systems. What's present during the test is a game that very much sticks to the designs that have made other HoYoverse projects popular, whether that be exploring well-designed maps or craving a new, powerful 5-Star character to add to an ever-growing roster of heroes. That's not a bad thing, though, and Honkai Star Rail seems like it's the most refined HoYoverse-style experience
But yeah, she's one of my favorite characters. And because we have so many characters, the game is actually filled with, you know - it's a character drama, you'll see a lot of different conversations happening between the characters, their mysteries. And that's how the game is engaging to our players, and you know, I like to hope that as I felt it, our players will as w
